  • Information and help for volunteering in Ghana.

    After coming to Ghana as a volunteer I soon realised that most of the money I had paid to an organisation hadn't left England. In fact the disabled centre where I was working was losing money from having to pay for my meals and accomodation. I also realised how easy it is to volunteer in Ghana without any established organisation, which would allow you to spend the extra money on helping develop the project you are working on.

Location: Adwumam-Lake Bosomtwi Road-Kumasi (about 40 mins drive from kumasi.

Description of the project:
Is a village school with about 200 pupils, ranging from kindergarten (1-3) and preparatory (3-10yrs) and junior high school (10-14yrs)

Activities for volunteers:

-Teaching/assisting the pupils
-Teaching/assisting additional subjects e.g. Art and drumming
-Caring for the children, in the nursery or preparatory and junior high school simply generally.
Accommodation for volunteers: In a host family.
