  • Information and help for volunteering in Ghana.

After coming to Ghana as a volunteer I soon realised that most of the money I had paid to an organisation hadn't left England. In fact the disabled centre where I was working was losing money from having to pay for my meals and accomodation. I also realised how easy it is to volunteer in Ghana without any established organisation, which would allow you to spend the extra money on helping develop the project you are working on.

On this site you can find advice and help about going to volunteer in Ghana.

Description of the project: The school 2001 of Roukson and Douglas Nkrumah to improve with the goal the education formation of the village based. They were helped by a volunteer from Germany, Christina (unfortunately I don’t have a surname). The school starts from primary level and goes up to class six.
Activities for volunteers:
-Teaching
-Teaching additional subjects e.g. Art and sports
-Looking after the children in the kindergarten or just generally
Accommodation: In a hostfamily

Notes: The water supply of the village comes from a bore hole directly beside the village and there is no electricity. That means in this project one can experience the real rural Ghanaian life!
